Petting – How to Get Into the Right Mindset
Petting is a relatively recent word of American origin, dating back only to in 1949, and has evolved over time into more than just affectionate kissing. In the early days, it was primarily used by children to express affection; for example, when a baby would suck its mother’s finger. Today, petting refers to romantic kissing, typically involving prolonged French kissing, or even non-penetrative acts like petting up close.
Romantic petting, however, is much more than a kiss. It can involve anything from giving each other an innocent peck on the cheek to playful hugs or gentle tickling, to giving each other a kiss on the cheek, to kissing on the neck.
Romantic petting can be spontaneous or can take some thought and planning ahead. For example, if you are giving your partner a kiss, but she has not warmed up, give her a little pat on the head or a simple squeeze, to get her warmed up. If you’re giving your partner a hug, make sure it is soft and gentle, as well as gentle.
When you do start out with petting, you will probably need to spend some time talking about your feelings before getting to the actual physical act itself. If your relationship is casual, you might be surprised at how quickly you can go from hugging to kissing and back again, and how often that happens.
If you want to get into the more intimate feelings of petting, then start slowly, by kissing her hand, or something soft and gentle. You should make sure it is soft, as any kind of rough touch can lead to a lot of hurt feelings. By kissing her hand, you are less likely to hurt her, which can lead to stronger feelings and eventually the act of kissing itself.
Kissing can also be much more intimate if you have your hands on her, if she is willing. One thing that can help with that is if she has already warmed up, then you can start kissing her hands. Even if your partner is resisting, just give her a gentle squeeze or a long kiss and then gently caress it over her skin. This can help you to get her warmed up, even before the actual act of kissing takes place.
If you’re doing this on your own, you will want to make sure that it’s appropriate for the situation before you kiss your partner. There are several things you can do, from not using too much pressure to kissing with more affection.
If you are going out on a date, then this can be a great way to get physical contact before you get physical with her. If you have a little more to work with, then it can be a great way to get a little extra intimacy when you are together as a couple.
