Helping Your Honor Student After School

What happens when you are the principal of a high school and you find out that your Honor student is dating one of his classmates? You might have to work with him to get him to stop. This can be very difficult, as he will not be able to give up the relationship without you asking him to do it. Here are some ideas for helping you stop him from going down that road.

First off, you should decide that it will not be possible for your Honor student to stop dating one of his classmates. While it is true that they may want to be free of his peer pressure, you still need to make sure that they are going to remain with their group of friends and will continue to hang out with them. If you tell him that you do not think that this is a good idea, it will only push him further away from his peers. If they do start hanging around with one another, you want to talk to them about the problem and let them know that you will not tolerate it. Even if they try to back out, make sure that they do not want to get back together. The problem could be that one of them does not really feel that they want to make a change in their life.

Once you find out that your Honor student is going to continue to date one of his classmates, you need to find a way to help your Honor student. One of the best things you can do is talk to his parents. Tell them what has been happening and that you are concerned. The next step is to talk to them about your concerns and see if they have any suggestions.

Your next step is to let your Honor student know that you are going to work with the people in your group to see if anything can be done. Let them know that you think it is inappropriate that your Honor student be hanging around with one of their friends. They may be able to get a few rules put in place, where everyone is forced to stop talking about each other. They may even be able to keep the conversation to themselves until something else better comes up.

Your Honor student may also be able to get a pass given to him for a few weeks or months in which he will be able to attend another class with you. If the group or other students are not able to find a solution, they may have to take him back to the Honor student’s dorm room. In addition to getting him out of the group, they can teach him some basic etiquette.

Once your Honor student has made the decision that he needs to get out of his peer group, he can come up with the solutions himself. The most important thing that you need to remember here is that you should not be afraid to tell him that you are uncomfortable with what he is doing that is wrong with his relationship.
